Responsibilities

We are looking for a Working Student Software Engineer to support the design, development, and operation of cloud-based backend services at TeamViewer. You will join our engineering team, contributing to modern software workflows, scalable systems, and cloud environments used across the company.

You will work closely with senior software engineers on real production systems, gaining experience in backend development, REST APIs, automation, and cloud services. This position is ideal if you bring strong technical skills in Python and SQL and want hands-on experience with modern software development practices and platforms.

• Contribute to the development and maintenance of backend services and internal tools

• Implement Python-based components, modules, and automation scripts

• Work with SQL to design queries, optimize performance, and support backend features

• Assist in building cloud-based solutions and services (GCP, AWS, or Azure)

• Develop and consume REST APIs, including authentication, error handling, and documentation

• Participate in code reviews, testing, debugging, and optimization

• Collaborate with software engineers and stakeholders to refine features and improve existing systems

• Explore and implement new frameworks, libraries, and best practices in software engineering

Requirements

• Ongoing university studies in computer science, software engineering, information systems, or a related field

• At least two years of study time remaining (e.g., Q3 2027)

• Strong Python programming skills (backend, scripting, or automation)

• Good SQL knowledge and experience working with relational databases

• Basic understanding of REST APIs and HTTP concepts

• Hands-on experience with Git and general software development best practices

• Familiarity with at least one major cloud platform, ideally Google Cloud Platform (GCP), AWS, or Azure

• Interest in scalable backend architectures and modern cloud services

• Good communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team

• Fluency in English; German is a plus

• Our Working Students in Germany receive a competitive monthly salary:

  • €1,566 for a 20-hour/week contract

  • €1,253 for a 16-hour/week contract

  • €1,400 for a full-time internship position
