Responsibilities
As a Software Architect (all genders) at TeamViewer, you will be pivotal in shaping the architectural vision and strategy for our software solutions. Your role will involve designing, developing, and implementing scalable, secure, and high-performing systems that align with the company’s strategic goals. You will guide architectural decisions, conduct reviews, and provide insights to ensure that our software solutions meet the highest standards of quality, robustness, and adaptability. Working closely with cross-functional teams, you will ensure that our systems are designed for long-term success, incorporating best practices and emerging technologies.
Architectural Strategy: Develop and implement software architecture strategies that align with business goals. Design scalable, secure, and high-quality solutions end-to-end across the whole customer journey.
Concept and Design Reviews: Conduct detailed reviews of architectural concepts, providing feedback and suggestions to enhance design quality and system performance.
Technical Guidance: Lead technical discussions, mentor team members up to Principle/Architect level, and provide strategic advice on complex technical challenges.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with engineering, product, and operations, marketing, support teams to ensure alignment and successful delivery of projects across the whole user journey.
Documentation: Create and maintain comprehensive architectural documentation that is clear, concise, and accessible to all relevant stakeholders.
Continuous Learning: Stay updated on industry trends and emerging technologies, applying this knowledge to enhance our software architecture.
Risk Management: Identify and document potential risks in the architecture, providing strategies to mitigate them effectively.
Requirements
Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
Over 11 years of experience in software engineering, with a proven track record in demonstrating mastery withing complex architectures and various domains.
Deep expertise in software architecture, development techniques, and tools, including VCS, IDEs, CI/CD, and deployment strategies.
Proficient in design and architectural patterns, with a strong focus on SOLID principles and industry best practices.
Technical proficiency: Strong expertise in Java, Kotlin, TypeScript, React.JS, C++ and C#
Hands-on development guidance of engineering teams through initial project phases
Advanced experience in agile software development, effectively applying it to architectural processes.
Strong ability to convey complex architectural concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Mastery in recognizing the impact of how changes can affect complex distributed systems.
Profound understanding of multi-platform development, non-functional requirements, and requirements engineering and its implications.
Lead feasibility studies, provide strategic advice, and guide teams through complex situations.
Consistently document complex technical systems and concepts in a structured and standardized manner, making knowledge accessible to others.
Commitment to continuous learning and application of the latest technological advancements in software architecture.
Always strives to balance business interests against technical efforts.
Knowledge in software licensing, FOSS compliance, and risk analysis, with the ability to identify and mitigate risks in architecture.

For this position, the collectively agreed minimum salary (IT Collective Agreement) is €3,843 gross per month based on a 38.5-hour work week. Naturally, a market-competitive overpayment is possible depending on your qualifications, professional experience, and overall expertise.
